In the last month I bought a Slingbox and let me tell you, it is the coolest gadget I have ever owned. Over the weekend I had to attend my sister's wedding and I was away from my TV, but with the Slingbox and a high speed Internet connection I was able to get caught up on highlights and such of the Warriors after the games on Friday and Saturday.
As someone who is not the most tech savvy person, this was easy to set up and easy to use. I bring it to work most days and have things on in the background while working.
Anyways, if anyone was pondering purchasing one, I would recommend it and go for it. These are great!!
If anyone has any questions about it I will be glad to answer them.

My wife bought me one of those two years ago, best present I ever got. I don't how many times I've watched a Warriors or Sharks game on my cell phone when I was out. Worth every penny.

Is there lag time, or is it a pretty smooth video feed?
I have seen the 49ers win a Superbowl. I have now seen the Giants win a world series. I need one more championship in my lifetime to make my life complete...

Slingbox with Tivo/DVR.
I got the slingbox for my brother who is in Singapore, so he could watch the Warrior games. Ideal is a 384kps upload because of the buffer needed and how quick the motions are for a game like basketball. A static IP is best, but a dynamic IP will work. However, my brother in Japan has been having a hard time because the dynamic IP keeps changing IPs and the slingbox doesn't always change. I think we're about to try to implement this www.dyndns.com. |
