The truth is, Ellis isn't going to bring back a star player. Not many teams are looking for a 6'3 shooting guard. The Warriors need a lot of things in order to win and one of those things is depth. Role players in another one. They don't have have a defender and a strong enough bench. This trade would remedy both issues.

Send Monta Ellis, Charlie Bell and Dorell Wright to the Bucks for Ersan Ilyasova, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Drew Gooden and Beno Udrih. I think the Bucks wouldn't mind getting the most out of Stephen Jackson and they could do that by bringing in a player he's familiar with in Ellis. Jennings, Ellis, Jackson, Sanders and Bogut could make a nice line up in the East.

Ersan Ilyasova

At 24 years old, he still hasn't reached his ceiling. A versatile big that is 6'9 and can play both forward positions. He can handle and pass the ball. He's also a tough player that will play hard-nosed defense.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute

A rising defensive star in the league that wants to guard opposing team's star SGs and SFs. He reminds me of a Bruce Bowen type player which is exactly what this team needs.

Drew Gooden

A local product that will come in and rebound the ball at a good rate. Adds some toughness to the front court as well.

Beno Udrih

A more than capable back up to Stephen Curry and will insure that Steph won't have to play 40 minutes a game. The scoring will still come from Curry, Lee and now Thompson.

Warriors Line up:

PG Stephen Curry - Beno Udrih - Jeremy Lin
SG Klay Thompson - Reggie Williams
SF Luc Mbah a Moute - Erson Ilyasova
PF David Lee - Drew Gooden - Lou Amundson
C Ekpe Udoh - Andris Biedrins - Jeremy Tyler

That team wont win. Too many unproven players, there isn't an answer for Monta's points. Udoh isn't a 5 and will never be at 6'9". Monta isn't going anywhere for the same reason you are conceding to grab projects and role players for him - we aren't going to get a star back for him.

Iguodala would've been so perfect.

This team needs a lot of things, but scorers aren't one of them. They need defenders and depth, especially in the front court. Here is an idea...

Send Monta Ellis, Charlie Bell and Dorell Wright to the Milwaukee Bucks for Erson Ilyasova, Beno Udrih, Drew Gooden and Luc Mbah a Moute.

Ellis and Jackson already has great chemistry so that should bode well for the Bucks. Jennings, Ellis, Jackson, Sanders and Bogut should make a decent line up in the East.

For the Warriors, they a lot of what they need...size, defense, toughness and depth.

Line up:

PG Stephen Curry - Beno Udrih - Jeremy Lin
SG Klay Thompson - Reggie Williams
SF Luc Mbah a Moute - Erson Ilyasova
PF David Lee - Drew Gooden - Lou Amundson
C Ekpe Udoh - Andris Biedrins - Jeremy Tyler

If Klay Thompson can chip in 15 a game, which I think he can, then replacing Ellis' scoring won't be a big problem. I can see David Lee go from his 16.5 points a game to 20 points a game as with Curry. Moute adds a tough defender than will guard opposing team's best wing players.

Not worth a new thread, since it's the same proposal - merged.

quality over quantity. trading Ellis for scrubs would be going backwards.
