Hawks to send 4 to Kings for Bibby
Hawks to send 4 to Kings for Bibby
February 16, 2008
ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to acquire veteran point guard Mike Bibby from the Sacramento Kings.
Hawks owner Michael Gearon Jr. says the Hawks are to send four players to the Kings. Among them are 2007 first-round pick Shelden Williams and starting point guard Anthony Johnson.
The Hawks also would send guard Tyronn Lue and veteran forward-center Lorenzen Wright to the Kings.
Gearon says the deal is expected to be completed Saturday.
Bibby missed the start of the season with a thumb injury but is averaging 13.5 points and 5.0 assists in 15 games.
is Artest the next King to be traded?
if Artest is traded, I hope he's tradede to the Warriors...
or to the Eastern Conference...

Man, this league is crazy. Another lopsided trade with the only aim to cut salary.
Now the Hawks are much improved, and probably a playoff contender... and the Kings are really rebuilding. Might be time to go for Artest... |

To be fair, the Kings played plenty of games without Bibby, and the young guys on the team looked pretty solid during those days. Salmons, Martin, Bouby, and Udrih make a solid core of youth to build a team with in the coming years. It was time to part with Bibby, who had his chance in Sacto (w/Bobby Jackson, CWebb, Peyja, and the Latvian Flopper. Bibby is the last of those Sac "Queens" that were robbed by the Lakers a few years ago, and he needed to go. The question is, what the hell do the Hawks think they are getting? How is Bibby supposed to help that team? |

Man.............another strange trade.............seriously? what the hell is going with GM's these days.
Ohh well..............Atlanta have that glue point guard now to bring it all together, let Johnson be a shooter. Sac............well, if Artest goes then they really are a bunch of queens! |

Yep, just like the Warriors. J-Rich and Foyle were the last of the losing Warriors basketball era. We had a new comer in Monta to replace JRich and Andris for Foyle. The Kings did their thing by getting rid of all their Rick Adelman guys and in with the new ones. The Hawks are much more improved. JJ can now go back to his natural position and have a lineup of Bibby, JJ, Smith, Horford, Zaza. Though they've lost a nice amount of bench help. But in all, that's a pretty solid lineup for an Eastern conference team. Don't hate yourself in the morning... sleep 'til noon.

Sure. I'm just saying that they got nothing for him. Not a single young guy with upside (maybe Shelden Williams... but considering what he has done in Atlanta, that's only a maybe), not picks... nothing. Just cap relief.
Sure, although I do think they'll just replace Anthony Johnson in the starting lineup and will play Bibby, JJ, Marvin Williams, Josh Smith, Horford as their starting lineup. Add Childress, Acie Law and Zaza coming from the bench and you have a pretty solid team. |

Oh boy I can't wait 'til Friday when the Hawks come to town. That rotation looks pretty scary to be honest with. I've been looking forward to see Horford and Smith go against us. Don't hate yourself in the morning... sleep 'til noon.

hehe, another one switching from the "We Believe" to the "One Love. One Dub" motto, I see.
Nice new sig, XBay. |

Damn, that is a pretty scary starting five...........super althletic and young-ish overall..............will be a good game when they come to town. |

Well, yeah... although I do think they're one center away from being a dangerous team. They're good enough for the playoffs... but I foresee a quick first round elimination for them. If they had a decent center (somebody like Biedrins, for example... not necessarily a Dwight Howard), then that team would scare me. Horford would be back to his real position at PF, Marvin would be a great weapon coming from the bench... A pity that they won't have an easy time finding that player, considering their lack of picks and their salary status. |

Haha yeah I'm feelin' the motto. I like Where hell freezes over happens but One Love. One Dub is real catchy. To be honest with, I'd rather see One Love up there over Where... Happens. Don't hate yourself in the morning... sleep 'til noon.

yeah, this team is definatly improved. As far as a 1st rd exit, I wonder if they vould go on some type of run and manage a 6 seed, as I think they would stand a much better chance against the Magic than either the Celtics or Pistons... ![]() |

That would have been a good motto til last year. Your Golden State Warriors. Where sh*t happens. Thank god that horrific decade is finally over... |
