This sounds flimsy... but if its true, I'll be happy. Wilcox would be great at the 5 for us.
PG - Baron Davis / Gary Payton / CJ Watson
SG - Monta Ellis / Marco Belinelli
SF - Stephen Jackson / Matt Barnes
PF - Chris Webber / Al Harrington / Brandan Wright
C - Andris Biedrins / Chris Wilcox
Few notes:
- Why would we extend Watson to the end of the year if we were picking up Payton? Doesn't make a ton of sense...
- Our bench looks WAY deeper. Instead of Azubuike and (every blue moon) Pietrus, we now have Payton, Wilcox, Al (full time, now that Webber's here), and Belinelli (bigger role) in the mix. Everyone's got a capable backup.
- Wilcox will eat up glass for us, hauling down 6-7 boards in backup minutes and finishing with POWER on the dishes from Baron. He'd be our Jason Maxiell.

Although I do agree with most of your points, I think the rotation would be something like this: PG.- Baron/ Payton SG.- Monta/ Jackson / Belinelli SF.- Jackson/ Al Harrington / Barnes PF.- Webber/ Harrington / Wilcox C.- Beans/ Wilcox So... 8, 9 men deep. Still no minutes for Beli. |

I'm sure it would work out that way... I was talking more in terms of depth charts than minutes. While Belinelli won't play as much as Jackson at the 2, I'd regard Stephen as the starting 3... not the backup 2.

PG.- Baron/ Payton SG.- Monta/ Jackson / Belinelli SF.- Jackson/ Barnes / Harrington PF.- Wilcox/ Harrington / Webber C.- Beans/ Webber / Wilcox "the victorious warrior wins first, and then goes to war; the defeated warrior goes to war first, and hopes to win."- The Art of War

Yeah, me too. To be honest, I made a copy and paste from 32's post and forgot about Webber starting. Although I do think Wilcox would play also backup center above Webber. In other words, Webber wouldn't have any minutes. |

I have a feeling Webber will pleasantly surprise a lot of you.
Naturally, the expectations will never be met. "Chris Webber" will never play for us again, but that doesn't mean the veteran we got isn't a useful player. I'm in love with that high post offense they like to run to him; only I wish they'd use Monta on the screen, as he's WAY quicker than Baron. I understand why they don't; Baron's a better passer and the play is designed to drive and kick, but it'd be damn near unstoppable if Monta ran that. Can you imagine him getting a running start EVERY play down the floor...? ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |
