Where are you hearing this? Is this speculation, or actual happening?

I know this is probably not believable, but GP is a good friend of my brothers through softball. GP told him this AM that his agent was contacted last night and apparently this was what was on the plate.
I can't confirm or deny it officially yet. I think if the warriors do the deal, they make up in two areas they need some help in. I just don't think CJ is the answer for playoff bound teams. I am not saying the kid can't play, but having mental toughness in the playoffs coupled with some luck on your side usually equates to a win. Wilcox adds a defensive minded powerhouse to help with the interior need |

davis/payton/watson
jackson/ellis/belinelli harrington/barnes wilcox/wright webber/biedrins/perovic i think the trade for wilcox is great but i would rather go pietrus for lowry better for the future. on the bright side this trade will open up minutes for belli and wright. Okay.... I will wait until I see something on paper or online before I say my opinion on this. Kind of hard to believe they would do this, though.

If All is True I think its an improvement... And Overall... A really good Deal for the Warriors...W's get rid of Pietrus and 3 expiring contracts... and get Chris Wilcox and the Legendary Gary Payton in return... I Love It Wilcox is a Beast and will be the Warriors new Starting P.F/C He will Help Tremendously in the Rebounding Department Ive liked Wilcox since Maryland...He has a Physical game, Can run on the Break and Can Jump OUT the GYM...he will Thrive under Nellie's System ..... Ive been a GP fan since day 1... G.P is a solid Backup P.G and Has Tons of Experience, he will help on the Defensive side of the ball and in the offensive half-court G.P and Watson will be a good P.G duo to Spell Baron Last edited by KC on Tue Feb 12, 2008 9:46 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I would love the hell out of this idea.............Wilcox!!! ohh sh*t yeah!.............although I can see Seattle doing that.
GP, cool, whatever, CJ wont be the answer come playoff time...........and hey! if a friends, brothers, cousin plays softball with GP..........cant be wrong! THE DEADLINE IS NIGH! |

I like the trade from a talent perspective, but what about financially? Wilcox has another year left on his deal after this year... could this possibly impact Biedrins and Ellis signings? (Wilcox makes 6.5 mil per year)

I don't think this will happen! They have KD as their SG and they already have enough bigs...Why would they want POB and Austin Powers!
|
|
the Sonics are rebuilding and looking to Increase Cap Space and Dump Large Contracts... Chris Wilcox is costing seattle 6.5 mill a year + POB, Azu and Croshere have Expiring Contracts |

plus the fact that buike n POB are young so they can re-sign them if they want. kurt thomas is getting old and will probably be on a different team when his contract ends in seattle, so POB wouldnt be too bad over there. buike could potentially replace wally. robert swift is good. he's just been injured and never got back to his original form. collison is naturally a PF but does well at the center position. kurt thomas, i guarantee wont be there after his contract ends. johan petro is the real disappointment for them. more of a defensive specialist, but even then not reliable. POB could be there 2nd center while kurt thomas is there and they could slide collison over to his natural PF position. How?. I think the opposite. This kind of trade assures that Wright won't play a single meaningful minute this year. All those minutes would go to Wilcox, Harrington and even Webber if he regainst some kind of shape. As for Belinelli, doesn't change his role on this team... btw, I really believe that Pietrus to Dallas trade can happen, but I can't see the trade for Wilcox. His contract is not that big, KT is already a big expirer (which means they'll have a need at PF, unless they draft Beasley) and the guys we're sending to Seattle, other than Azu (who may opt out and not be back), have no future with them. I can't see that trade happening from the Sonics standpoint. |

agreed about swift. He is good. But he's still a project centre. Oh and you forgot about Sene who they drafted just last year. U think they want 4 young centres? |
