Marvin Williams has been playing out of position in Atlanta is a natural SF. Josh Smith is having a solid year, but Atlanta has made it clear that Marvin is the future of their franchise. Joe Johnson is better suited at the 2 guard spot.
The Warriors need a rebounding SF and Smith could be just that. Its a trade of up and comers. Atlanta needs a PG and the Warriors need front court players.
Send Ellis and Barnes to Atlanta for Josh Smith.
Smith will/could be a star in a few years as with Monta. A 6'9 guy that can do alittle of everything is more needed on this team than a combo guard. Ellis, Johnson, Williams, Shelden Williams, and Pachulia could be a nice line up in the East.
The Warriors would have Davis, Richardson, Smith, Harrington, and Biedrins.

Nice idea, but no thanks.
I think Money will be way more of an impact MVP franchise player than Josh Smith will be. Dont get wrong Josh Smith is an amazing athlete, defensive player of the year to be, but with this team as is I dont think the Monta for JSmith trade is gonna help the warriors. Now Baron for JSmith? Id that in a minute. Maybe less. |

Unfortunately, no. Josh Smith is tearing it up. Monta and Smith are the future of this league. I like Marvin, it's just that Josh Smith seems like he'll become the better of their young talent. If anything, the future should be Smith, not Williams.

They'd trade Marvin before trading Josh Smith... |

Right now there is no way anyone is prying monta away from mully (unless of course it was for some bonafide superstar which would never happen)

DAMN, everyone's gotta a lotta new names...
All I did was chop the '#' off my SN... people here are straight dumping their old siht. Thank God for avatars and sigs... I'd be lost without them. And, nah, this Josh Smith trade would never work. Atlanta and Golden State value Smith and Ellis as possible franchise players in the future. Neither would be willing to trade the other for cheap. Mullin just aquired Stephen Jackson, so there's no longer a pressing need at SF. Won't happen. ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

I've always said that Josh Smith is awesome but the Hawks just wouldn't give him up right now unless it was for either Baron or JRich

Nah they wouldnt trade for our beloved Baron (way way too injury prone and expensive and his quitter-ness) maybe JRich if he comes back and gets into All-Star form. But then why would we wanna trade him? |
I know...
You crazy No, really, think about it. Neither of those players would improve them much (they already have Joe Johnson playing in J-Rich's spot, so they don't need him. As for Baron, even tho he would vastly improve them at PG, he would eat their salary cap... and I'm pretty sure they value that cap more than Baron). |

I think they'd give him up for Biedrins, too.
But screw that. ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

That I can see. Still not sure, as they already have a pretty decent big man in Shelden Williams, but I can see them considering that trade...
Riiiiight. |
