GSW
Adonal Foyle
Mikael Pietrus
2nd round 2007 pick
POR
Jamal Magloire
Travis Outlaw
Salary wise this works out. We would complete shed Mullin's bad contracts with the loss of Foyle, but the back up position of C would be held onto by Magloire. Getting rid of Pietrus cleas the SG/SF logjam and Outlaw would be the perfect backup to Al Harrington. Plus they both come off the books and we could easily sign Monta and Andris long term.
From the Portland side they would gain a draft pick, a valued player in Pietrus who they can either resign or attempt to move again to NY or another team with interest in him. Foyle would fit in line with what they are trying to do with the C position with Pryzbilla. Finally, both Outlaw and Magloire are expirers and since Portland isn't doing anything this year they would at least get something for nothing.
I doubt Portland would go for this but would you guys do it if Portland would?

I think it would work for us but no way portland does this trade. an expirer like magloire is worth his weight in gold

Yeah, it was a wishful thinking sort of trade. But I got to thinking about worth the weight in gold thing and looked it up. Jamaal Magloire is listed as 265 lbs. by Yahoo sports. The weight of 265 pounds of gold is worth $2,423,160.00 Magloire's contract is $8,433,334.00 Magloire, therefore, is actually worth about x 3.4 his weight in gold. |

I'm with Pest. Works for us... but I can't see a single reason why Portland trade for Foyle's contract. Not even having Pietrus and a second to sweeten the deal. But the weight in gold approach is interesting. Are we sure Mully didn't try it with Donnie Walsh in the Murphleavy trade? |

lol good one ... magloire will be moved by the deadline, he holds no value to the rebuilding blazers who are already way under the cap im sure..? correct me if im wrong.. but anyway, we'd have to give something good up in order to get him, i like that idea of having him as a backup C. "Losing is inevitably close to winning," Guber said. "They're inches apart. Drama. If you have drama, you've got a ticket to sell." "They're not real fans," Lacob said. "They don't have season tickets."

Yeah, the problem is that Magloire is too slow for us. He'd be great for a team like, well, Indiana or any other that plays a half-court offense... but I can't see him playing well for us. Terrible fit. |

You never know, the Blazers want promising young players and Pietrus is one of them but this just won't happen
