Asik is a poison pill deal; his contract goes up to $17 million in year 3. So even though I think he's a relentless rebound hound, I don't really want him. And while I'm willing to take a gamble on a guy like Rudy Gay for Barnes (namely, because Gay can give you an isolation option on offense while sacrificing nothing defensively), I'm not as high on Deng (whose more efficient and better defensively) because he's never really gotten over the hump in Chicago; I've always viewed him as "nice", but not necessarily a dangerous franchise player. To give up on BOTH Barnes and Thompson, I can't have a bad contract like Asik and a guy like Deng whose aggressiveness varies.

I suspect this deal was made with the mindset that Bogut wouldn't consistently play this year, yeah?
