NBA notes

The Warriors will hold training camp in Hawaii and play two home games at the Arena in Oakland as part of a seven-game preseason schedule leading up to the 2005-06 season, the team announced Wednesday.

The Warriors will open camp Oct. 4-10 at the George C. Cannon Activities Center on the campus of BYU-Hawaii in Laie. The team then will play two games in Honolulu against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 11 and Oct. 12.

"We made this same trip prior to the 2003-04 season and came away impressed with the facilities and the unique bonding experience it provided our team," Warriors executive vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin said.

Upon returning to the mainland, the Warriors will play three straight games in Northern California, starting against the Kings in Sacramento's Arco Arena on Oct. 16. The Warriors will host Phoenix on Oct. 19 and Seattle on Oct. 22.

The team then travels to Missoula, Mont., to face the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 24. The preseason wraps up Oct. 27 when the Warriors play at Phoenix.

The NBA will announce its regular-season schedule Monday.
