Writes Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News, after the hard line Golden State Warriors reached an agreement with head coach Don Nelson:
"If I'm Baron Davis, I realize that there is no $50M extension coming. Maybe a short, clean $25M deal, but a fat $50M is out the window. That's smart by the Warriors, who have proven they can hang tough through grinding negotiations, smart by (owner) Chris Cohan, smart by his right-hand man Robert Rowell, and smart by Chris Mullin, who didn't have money oversight on anything to do with Nelson, but definitely has re-made the salary structure and was telling Nelson it was time to come in."
No extension for Baron...yet

So, in other words, that's just Kawakami's opinion. No news, indeed.

But best that Baron doesn't get such a huge extension. The way the team management has been handling the resigning of players, Baron won't get as much money as he is getting now but you never know, Mullin might not be able to replace him and have to give him the money

No need to rush things anyway now that Nelson is back. If he didn't return, then this would be an issue because Baron only wants to play under Nelson until Don doesn't have anything left in the tank.
