Get ready to have a new Warrior in uniform against the Hornets. Golden State is expected to sign 6-5 guard Kelenna Azubuike as early as tonight to bolster its depleted backcourt. Azubuike is the D-league's leading scorer with a 26.2 ppg average for the Fort Worth Flyers.


Some more quick hits on Azubuike:



He's shooting 51 percent from the field and 49 percent from 3-point range.

He's also averaging 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

He left Kentucky after his junior year in 2005 and went undrafted.

He caught on with the Cavaliers for training camp that fall and played in five preseason games before he was cut.

The Rockets signed and waived him this preseason.

Wonder whether this is true. The team does need another guard, depending on how Pietrus plays at SG and McCleod as backup PG. This guy won't be signed for more than 1 or 2 10 day contracts though because Monta is likely back soon as is Robertson

He has Krazy hop's and apparently can hit the 3 too

"I thought it was a drink and he was talking about a player."

Seems like a decent signing. His numbers are not that impressive coming from the D-league (which Pape Saw dominated like Wilt in his prime ), but his % are good. .490 from 3pts shows the guy can shoot, at least. If he pans out, Roberson will be the odd man out.

We could use another shooter. That seems to be our strength, lately. If we're living and dying by the 3, we might as well be prepared.

Nelson's eyes must have lit up at the thought of an exotic drink and then he would have fell down to Earth when he realised it wasn't.

Looks like Nellie was looking for some free booze from Mully. I like that Azubukie guy. Especially his last name, it's pretty cool.

Nelson must be getting plenty of drink from someone because the team is losing games against some of the worst teams lately and Diogu is not playing at all!

The team can't really get dramatically away from .500 (not that I'm complaining).

These last 5 games should have been wins! I say that Diogu could have made the big difference because of the way he has been playing and the skills he has that could open things up for other guys

I hope the Warriors offer him an extension before he gets too much pub. How nice would it be to have a legit backup 2 guard for the next 2-3 years for about 1.5 mil a pop?
