I'm pretty sure their contracts are the reason... Ford makes 8 million, Calderon 2. And Calderon becomes a free agent after the season, while Ford is signed for 3 more seasons. That's their motive to play Ford over Calderon.

hey, it never hurt the knicks to have a bunch of 15-20 million dollar a year benchwarmers

Yes it has, they are pathetic

I'd say Isiah should be blamed more than their willingness to pay...

migya wrote:Also, about TJ Ford, he is a very good PG, just imagine him getting 35mins a game, his numbers would be close to top 5 among PGs. Calderon is at the same level as Ford and the Raps are set there and should look to hang on to Calderon

Yeah, Ford is a good PG that should start for most teams in the NBA. It's just that they play better when Calderon is on the court.

Actually, if I were the Raptors GM, I'd look to re-sign Calderon and trade Ford for a good SF/SG (but only for a good one... it'd be no salary dump. Only to improve the team). They'd be better off with a more balanced team, and Ford is a pretty valuable guy around the league.

2:15 left in the 2nd, Stephen Jackson is 6-for-7 from the free throw line...

Who, exactly, said that Jackson's return won't fix our free throw woes?

The Raptor are up by one now! And their perimeter players are beating us from the outside! This is when we need our players like Pietrus and Barnes to standout! Even though Barnes is out for the game!

Man just when I thought our inside D was getting better we are getting burned by players like Bargani and Kapono!!!

Are you talking to me #32??? If so I never said that S-Jax was not a good ft shooter!!! The W's are a terrible team as terms in FT's but not S-Jax...

We really need to bring in more veterans who can make their FT's!!!

Stephen Jackson makes this team so much smarter in the half court. Warriors played well then caught some tough bounces. Baron needs to D up on Ford more. We could really use Barnes in this game. Our outside shooting was pretty shitty for the most part and I think that will improve in the second half.

Monta Ellis is right on the verge of busting out. I think he'll start getting more calls soon ala Dwade

Perimeter players? No Raptor is in double-figures except TJ Ford, whose got 21.

Baron and Al are killing us. They're a combined 6-for-17 (1-for-6 for three). That can't happen from our 2 leading scorers. Belinelli doesn't have it either, going 0-for-2. And even though Monta is currently 2-for-3, he's also got 3 turnovers and 3 fouls in only 6 minutes of play.

Biedrins is continuing to hold it down (11 and 8 by halftime)... but I'm a little surprised Nellie hasn't played O'Bryant at all, considering how well he played against the Clippers. SJax is leading the team in assists, with 5, along with 11 points (6 from the line), and the team's only blocked shot.

Put SJax on TJ Ford in the 2nd half and the Warriors should run away with it, as Toronto doesn't seem to have it today. The rest of their team is 17-for-37. All things considered, the Warriors are only down by 3... which is good, considering the below stats:

Toronto leads in steals, 6-to-2
Toronto leads in blocks, 5-to-1
Toronto leads fast break points, 11-to-4
Toronto has less turnovers, 6 compared to our 10

Considering all that, the fact that we're only down by 3 is pretty nice. If Baron or Al turns it on, we'll get it going.

Once again AB is the culprit!!! He is 3-6 in this game and I thought his FT's were inproving...He can't be our center of the future if he can't make his FT's!!!

Uh, he's also got twice as many rebounds as our next closest player (a game-high 8).

He's 75% from the line this season. I'll take that from Biedrins.

We had a big lead and now we're down by 3??? As for the W's defense it will always be a problem!!! No large of a lead will ever protect the W's!!!

Did someone say that the W's defense would improve after S-Jax came back???

They put Jackson on Bosh, who EVERYONE predicted would have his best game of the season.

He's currently 2-for-8 from the field. QED.
