Not unless he wants to make a final bid for a spot in the starting lineup.
Nelson, being a player's coach, will likely ask Ellis is he wants to play... but I think Monta has enough confidence in his contributions from last season to not believe Nelson's recent BS spurts about starting Pietrus and Azuibuke. Looks like his shot has been solid so far tonight, with 14 points on 6-11 shooting, but he has 8 turnovers!

I just dont think that he is our answer at point. What position is he playing, and what kind of turnovers are he making?

He's playing SG, it pretty much has been confirmed that he will not be a bonafide PG at this point. As for what kind of turnovers, I'm not sure. I'm just looking at the boxscore, as the game wasn't televised.

As we all know, Nellie's word is final. You do what he says. If Nellie thinks that Monta is a good point, that is what he is going to be.

He didn't say Monta was a good point. He just said in order to be a superstar, he will have to be a PG (because of his size). Right now, it just isn't working out, and it doesn't look like he will develop those skills any time soon. |

He said that he wants Monta to be the future point guard on the team.

He said Monta's future lies at PG. But he also said that early last season, before Ellis flopped badly in the role and won an MIP averaging 18 PPG. I think even Nellie understands now that Ellis should stay at SG. He can play combo, if Nelson is REALLY stuck on him handling the ball, but he'll never be a straight point. I have no problem having Monta platoon with Baron at the point this year. I dont think that he is the long term starter, though.
