Six-year, $61 mil. He got what he wanted. He'll be playing late in the season if the Raiders are competing for the wild card. But if they are but get eliminated, expect him to come in after that.

The Raiders are a joke... Just trade the guy. All you are saying is that, "yeah, we can get pushed around." Watch for Jerry Porter to demand a contract reconstruction, and not play until he gets it.

Well actually there were rumors of the Raiders trading Russell to Atlanta. Though that was absurd because you're talking about a major deal to bring him over giving up a player, couple draft picks and so.

If I were the Raiders, I would trade him to the Falcons for a 1st round pick this year and next year, as well as 2nd round picks this year and next year. The Raiders have all the momentum in terms of negotiating, and needed to take advantage of it. They wont trade him now that he signed.

That's for sure. Still, I think he'll start the last 5 or 6 games of the season, once the Raiders are out of contention for anything other than a top pick in the next year's draft. |

Al Davis labelled him the next John Elway (And Al is right on the money when it comes to scouting cough, cough Gallery) Wait till that monster arm rips up the Bucs & Niners Secondary, Wait till you D Line of Bucs & Niners try to sack this man... you guys are gonna be left embarrassed. Daunte will teach him a thing or 2 about handling the pressure. |

I will take P-Will over Jamarcus Russell any day of the week. P-Will isnt selfish and wants everything handed to him. P-Will dominated the college game for years. Jamarcus had one good year. P-Will has dominated the NFL so far. Where has JaMarcus been? Oh yeah, waiting to sign his contract four months later....

Yep. He's been a monster the only game he's played. HOF worthy.
No, really. I'd also pick P-Willie above Jamarcus... Time might prove us wrong, tho. A simply good QB is a lot more valuable than a stud LB. The problem is that nobody can be sure Jamarcus is gonna be a good QB. |
