UFC 74 starts in a few hours.
Heavyweight Championship: Randy Couture v Gabriel Gonzaga - Reckon Couture will win in 5 rounds. Gonzaga is dangerous as he showed by knocking out Mirko CroCop with a head kick a few months ago. CroCop is one of the best and most well known fighters in the world and Gonzaga beating him was a surprise. Gonzaga is trained in BJJ so I am pulling for him somewhat but Couture is one of the most inspirational fighters ever and a well known nice guy.
Welterweight: Georges Saint Pierre v Josh Kosscheck - I just think St. Pierre is one of the best fighters there is and was caught falling asleep by Matt Serra when he lost the Welterweight championship. Koscheck is a real good fighter and athlete himself and this could be one of the best fights ever. I pick St. Pierre to win but it will likely go the distance.
Lightweight: Roger Huerta v Alberto Crane - Huerta has one alot lately and apparently if he wins this fight, he may well get a title shot against Sean Sherk. Don't know much about the fighters, especially Crane but will pick Huerta
Lightweight: Joe Stevenson v Kurt Pellegrino - Both fighters like going to the ground so probably not much striking going to happen here. Stevenson won a previous fight in some 27 seconds and it has been said he is on a roll and looking for a title shot himself against Sherk. I pick Stevenson but Pellegrino could win it very easily
Middleweight: Thales Leites v Ryan Jensen - Travis Lutter was supposed to be fighting Leites but is injured so was replaced by Jensen. Since Jensen is making his UFC debut, I'll pick Leites
Middleweight: Kendal Grove v Patrick Cote - Grove is a very tall guy and maybe he will have a striking advantage. Bit of a hard pick but I'll go with Cote.
Light heavyweight: Renato Sobral v David Heath - Sobral is a great submission specialist and should win this one sooner or later. Likely could go the distance as well
Heavyweight: Frank Mir v Antoni Harduk - Mir is a former champion and Haruk has shown very good ability in his two UFC fights. Mir has the experience and should win
Lightweight: Clay Guida v Marcus Aurelio - Guida was robbed against Tyson Griffin at UFC 72 and is a very fit, energetic fighter. Should be a very good fight and I pick Aurelio in a fight that might go the distance

I don't watch all UFC matches for the reason that I don't really like watching the lower class weights. But I want Corture and St. Pierre to win.

Results:
Couture beat Gonzaga by TKO after 1.37 of the third round. St. Pierre won by unanimous decision over Koscheck. Huerta beat Crane by TKO after 1.50 in the third round. Stevenson won by unanimous decision over Pellegrino. Cote beat Kendall by TKO after 4.45 in the first round. Sobral beat Heath by TKO after 3.30 in the second round. Mir beat Hardonk by submission after 1.17 in the first round. Leites beat Jensen by submission after 3.47 in the first round. Guida won by split decision over Aurelio. I was 100% in my predictions, should have placed a beat for fuk's sake ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Couture's win was based on respect. He wanted some and now he's got it after that win. Don't hate yourself in the morning... sleep 'til noon.

As far as I'm concerned, Couture has done more than enough in his career to have respect from anyone. By coming back and winning the Heavyweight title in his first fight, that is just amazing and really shows what a champion that man really is

Yeah but lately people have been quiet when it comes to Corture. He believes he's not getting any respect.

Well he bet Gonzaga, a young up and comer, convincingly and is still the champion
