What do you mean a difference in cultures?

They try to claim that thats one of the things that are apart of that ghetto, southern, black culture. Dog-fighting is an ugly hobby for some of the people in the south. I don't agree with it (and neither does the majority of southerners), but its the excuse dog-fighters fall back on nevertheless...

My opinion is that if people say that it is accepted in their culture or their religion, guess what, the government doesnt care. This is still America, and you do things by the constitution. If they still beleive that, go somewhere else and do it. Go to another country. I really dont care where it is that they go, but as long as they are in America, I am not going to full for some bull claim that it is accepted in their culture.

Growing up I knew people that had pits that would train them to be "hitters", they would breed them, sell & fight them. I was always scared & didn't trust pits so never went to any fights but heard some inhumane story's that made me disinterested.

Did Vick personally finish any of the dogs off or was he directly responsible for any executions :?:

That will be the difference between coming back to the NFL and going to jail for five years.

Everyone has their likes and habits. In Spain for example ,they have the Bull run and when they have the matadors, the Bulls get killed. Every country has its laws but it has always been considered less of a bad thing when it is violence against animals than violence against humans, especially when it is a sport. We all have our likes and dislikes and it is another area where debate can happen. As bad as unprovoked killing is, it exists in many forms in societies

Even here, there are a lot of groups opposed to bull fighting. It's not like they have any hope of changing a culture as old as that one, but it's not supported by everyone. A lot of the younger generations want to change it.. Actually, it might be more popular in Mexico than here (except on certain places, like Madrid or Seville, where the tradition is too big).

You will find that as the older generation dies out and the younger generation takes over, all the past traditions that involve negativity, like violence to animals and so forth, will be gotten rid of. Some people say life will be boring but I call it evolution to a better self

How long would Vick be in jail if he is found guilty? Anybody know?

I heard that Vick would be in jail for 8 years or something like that. I might be getting that confused with Lindsay Lohan's possible jail time (so many people who might be going to jail these days.) I remember when this story first broke out, Vick said that people use his house all the time and it was his relatives doing for the dogfighting. However, theres probably no way that he could not have known about it. I have a bad feeling that the Falcons are in for a horrible season....

He's innocent until proven guilty, though it was said he may get up to 8 years or more plus banishment from the NFL. Don't hate yourself in the morning... sleep 'til noon.
