Barry Bonds in filing for free agency because his agent and he have heard nothing from Giants management. The Giants have responded, claiming that they've been so caught up in the coaching situation that they haven't had a chance to think about the players yet.

Bonds will file for free agency after the World Series ends. What will happen?

In my opinion? I think he'll stay in San Fransisco if they offer him a contract. Obviously, it can't be a dramatically smaller amount that what he's looking for... but I doubt he'll get the same kind of deal he got last time. I'm betting a 2-year deal for $30-35 million.

There's no way the Giants let him break Hammerin' Hanks record in another uniform.
