Completely owned the Celts on the glass. Gasol schooled Garnett. KD looked OLD tonight. Celts did not seem to play with much energy. Very suprsing. Obviously LONG way to go but Celts could have really used this game... Phil Jackson 46-0 all-time after winning 1st game of series In a 2-3-2 format, I have always felt the road team is at a bigger disadvantage. After their 3 straight home games (through 5 games, they HAVE to be 3-2... not a chance if they are at 2-3 they win BOTH games in LA. By dropping this first one, that means they much win 3 of the next 4. Certainly not impossible, but they need to play better than they did tonight. Honestly no... he is one of my favorite players in the league to watch. He is no doubt one of the greatest that have ever played the game and it is a joy to watch him play. but I think ROOTING for him is too strong of a word. I simply enjoy watching him play and appreciate the fact he can play every aspect of the game. _____________________________________________________

That's basically it. Gasol owned the Celts inside guys the whole game, and they had no chance at all. The next one if gonna be key, because the series will be over if the Lakers win it. I just can't see Boston taking the three home games... |

Celtics team play and defensive game can really dismantle a team with a lot of holes, but that's not the Lakers. If the Lakers are getting good offensive production from more than 2-3 players, Celtics can't really counter that. They have to play perfect team ball and the Lakers have to have an off night offensively for the Celts to win. Chances are, the Lakers will be off at least one night during this series. Lakers in 5. maybe 6.

If the Celtics win game 2 everyone will be talking about how the Lakers are in trouble. This is how the banter goes with the playoffs. The Celtics are a great adjustment team and their veterens are too old and salty to be shaken by a lose. The Lakers were supposed to win game 1, it's their home turf. I still see the Celtics taking the series. I am worried about Gasol though. To me he is the biggest problem for the Celtics, literally and figuratively. We need to trade for Gasol's "little" brother
