Not bandwagon at all! J-Rich and Amaré are two of my favorite basketball players. And I love Matt, of course!

Not my fault they all ended up on the same team!

The whiner? Amare? (i would do that accent, but i could care less for him)

anyway, i do like j-rich, and steve nash is MY favorite player (AI too). But im no way gonna be a sun fan. UGH!

It's actually Amar´e or something gay like that. But I like him as a player, it's not about whether he whines...at least he doesn't flop around like Ginobli.

AI is the reason I started watching basketball though, when he was with the 76ers, but I don't really like him as a person.

Either way, I have no problem rooting for the Suns as long as teh Warriors suck and as long as the Suns winning doesn't affect the Warriors standing.

I've never understood this train of thought. I want the Warriors to win and the 29 other teams to lose every game. I don't buy into having "2nd teams" at all. It's all or nothing

Why? I like watching good, entertaining basketball, regardless of the team. If the Warriors were in the playoff race I'd be rooting for the Suns to lose because it would benefit the Warriors, but the Suns winning isn't hurting the W's right now. It's not so much that I would be all about the Suns franchise or anything, but when they have 3 of my favorite players on their team I'm going to watch them and I'm going to want them to succeed. Like I said, it's about enjoying quality basketball. Same reason I really like Peyton Manning and the Colts, they play GOOD football.

I like watching great basketball as well, but i just can't bring myself to root for another team is all. But yeah, i guess there are teams i hate less than others

Wasn't having a go at ya at all. Have had this same convo with a ton of people about the AFL too (Aust Rules Football)

well i agree with some of what you both say. Like i do think you can have 2 teams, but only when both those teams are location base (i.e. hometown or family's hometown). I don't think one player should determine whether you like a team or not, because anyone can leave anything and in sports the most important thing is team (theres no I in team). Therefore team loyalty is more important than player loyalty.

see i'm just not like that. I've lived in Adelaide all my life, but support Carlton.I always have. I fkn hate the Adelaide Crows (football again)

I'm with Capt here. You definitely can have a second team, as long as you don't root for them if there's something at stake for your first. Easy as that.

Of course, the fact that Capt is trying to become the new Suns fluffer is totally unrelated to this bandwagonism. Am I right, Capt?

Suns win big with this. JRich gives them a star SG that they haven't had since JJohnson was there. Nash will get even more assists now. Didn't quite work (or at least thus far) with getting Shaq for Marion but they now are more athletic, have even more scorers, don't really lose anything in outside shooting and have a finisher in JRich.

The Suns are a great team on talent but they have looked unorganised, unlike they have since Nash has arrived there. Porter has to make this work now or he could be out of there at the end of the season.

Good to see JRich go to a great situation and have a chance to go back to the playoffs

Thats a ridiculously lopsided trade for the Suns.............how the hell do you only get a one dimensional flopper and a washed up has been for J-Rich........AND a promising young guy in Dudley!!!

This is insane if its true.

Suns =

Shaq
Amare
Barnes
J-Rich
Nash

Thats insane.

well bell's 5mill is gone before 2010, and morrison, felton, and may's contracts can be also. all those contracts added up is roughly 20 mill...maybe theyre trying to get into the FA sweepstakes.

instead of going after free agents, i bet they will start trading all their expirings to teams that can actually land free agents in 2010, in return for longer contracted good players.

then why havent they offered us anything for maggs/jackson?

naw i highly doubt they would help other teams by sending expiring contracts elsewhere. besides, jrich isnt an expirer by 2010 if i recall (i may be wrong, but im too lazy to check). maybe they arent trying to get one of the bigger names like wade, bosh, amare, and lebron...maybe they're gonna try to get someone else that may be pretty young and try to lure them in. or maybe theyre gonna wait til the year after and go after roy (though he'll likely be extended)

who knows what jordan is trying to do over there. theyve got a hell of a defensive team now though.

Larry Brown, the coach over there, has always been a defense first coach and now he has the players to do that. If Bell can score some (if he gets a chance to that is) and they can stay healthy, they could even improve their wins simply by being more built for Brown

What's the big deal with liking the Suns when our team can't make the playoffs?
I love JRich, Amare is our missing piece, Nash is a great but aging player.
The Shaq deal sucked. They should never have gotten rid of D' Antoni.

I didn't understand the excellent defensive player comment either. But he is a good guard rebounder. And now they are a lot more exciting. They don't sit idly by, and they at least try to address their needs. They can go fast or slower. Excellent move for the Suns!

Yep! Very true TMC!

To other people, it's not like I'm becoming a die hard Suns fan or anything. If J-Rich and Barnes left I'd stop watching, but as long as 3 of my favorite players are there, I'm going to watch them and I'm going to want them to do well as long as it doesn't hurt the W's.

What's very true?. That you can have a second team or your "flufferism"?. You gotta be more specific, Capt.

actually, gerald wallace becomes the primary scorer again and theyre gonna ask for more offense fom okafor (which may hurt his game as it did last year). raja bell will end up being a third, fourth, or even scoring option depending on how felton and diaw are hitting.
