I certainly want morrow back, but I wouldn't be surprise if they let him go. The next dude is Reggie Williams anyway. If he doesn't work out, seems like warriors can easily find another from the d-league or undrafty.

They'll probably let him walk. Having a 3 point specialist is nice though. He had some decent things he was adding to his game too. Good for Morrow though, coming from the D league and earning a damn good payday from nothing before. We'll see what Reggie brings as a starter now. I hope there is something to Beast Mode's man crush. If Reggie turns out to be a solid starter, I'll eat my words.

Forget him. Pick up Raja Bell.

Yeah, Ric Bucher was saying he's as good as gone.

For my Bay Area tweeps: Ws not expeected to match Nets' offer for Anthony Morrow because they're right at luxury-tax threshold.

I hate to lose Morrow, but we all saw it coming if someone gave him an offer. Remember, we have Charlie Bell... a similar player to Morrow. Not a pure 3-point specialist, but he is a scorer. Given on any day, I'd take Morrow over Bell just because he's younger and has solid work ethic. I'll miss him.

I'm sorry, but I accidently clicked a GSoM link. And I saw this:
What? It’s not a question of whether we can match. We can. If we WON’T match, it’s out of unbelievable cheapness and/or skull-crushing stupidity. $4M is not a lot of scratch for one of the great shooters in NBA history. I don’t care how supposedly "one-dimensional" he is. He puts a huge amount of pressure on opposing defenses, he opens up the floor, he rebounds his position, he takes care of the ball, he’s a great kid with a great attitude and work ethic. He’s the perfect teammate. Curry clearly loves him. Nellie too. Not to mention basically 100% of Warriors nation.

Can someone explain why is this even a question? Beyond Steph Curry, the only area in which this team was superior to most other NBA teams on a most nights was its dead-eye perimeter shooting. With the trade of Kelenna, we’ve lost a key piece of that. Curry’s Curry, but you can’t be team’s prime mover and its lead sniper. Reggie looks good, but the sample size is still small; asking a D-league call up with 24 games of NBA experience to be your only off-ball perimeter threat is an absolutely absurd risk for a team that seems to be trying to make a playoff run right now.

A little perspective about this potential contract that for some reason is being debated. I think we all assumed Morrow would command about $3M a year. That’s about the minimum possible extension for a young proven NBA player who doesn’t suck. We’re now talking about $1M more than that. Kyle Korver (14.2 pts per 36, career .410 3PG) just got 3/$15M. JJ Redick (14.7, .392) got $3/$20M. So tell me how the heck is Morrow — 16.0, .460 and a much better rebounder than either of them — not worth 3/$12M? Heck, why is he even worth that little?

There are plenty of real and potential Warriors moves that are worthy of healthy debate on this site (the Lee trade, e.g.). This is not one of them. There are no grey areas. There is no downside. To refuse to offer Morrow 60% of what JJ Redick just got is sheer madness. If we drop the ball on this, I don’t want to hear one mealy-mouthed rationalization, or "meh," or unkind word about our beloved Ammo / Chocolate Rain / BlackboiPachino. I demand protests in front of the Oracle with pitchforks and torches!

that poster seems to be living in some sort of alternate universe if he really expects the warriors to get into luxury tax territory for morrow.

This warriors team is amazing to keep absolute worthless bums like bell, gadzuric, radmonostiff, wright over morrow. There has to be a way to trade one of these clowns for a future pick to free up some money.

the nets have become the scumbag team of the nba giving insane offers to players not worth it forcing organizations to go over the salary cap. This is bad business in my opinion. If the nets want to screw a team over then throw derek fisher a ton so the lakers lose him, that will shake up the league

I know it's not gonna happen, but honestly I'd like to see us match Morrow and eat some luxury tax. He's such a good weapon to have on offense. He had a 59.7% true shooting percentage last year, which is godly. He rebounds well for his position (at SG) and doesn't make mistakes or turn the ball over that often. Defensively he is subpar but improving and puts in the effort at least. But I hate losing such an effective offensive player.

And as much as I like Reggie, playing for part of the season does not make you proven, there have been many players who have had real good seasons or half seasons but couldn't carry the success forward. Morrow has proven for two seasons he can be effective.
