I hate that Cohan got his price. Makes me immediately dislike the guys that paid that price.

I'll say it - they're off to a shaky start

Tim K reporting that sources are saying that Lacob will be the primary owner with Guber in a secondary role as just an investor but Lacob will be making the decisions and be the face of the ownership group.

So Rowell needs to be escorted from the building IMMEDIATELY and Riley should be following within the next two weeks. Hope they look to bring in Pritchard.

Lacob is from Kleiner-Perkins, the premeire venture capital firm out of Menlo Park whio financed the boom and bust of the Internet investment bubble. Guber is from LA and was previously with Sony during a period when Sony's worth plummetted, as has been reported on KNBR.

I'm just surprised that Ellison wasn't the winning bidder, judging by his wealth and his companies name on the arena. I hope these guys have a passion to win and aren't in it just for the money.

Several things to consider:

* Can't believe Cohan got $450 million for the Warriors. It's shocking to think a team like ours, with its lack of success (on the court, I mean) can be bought for that much. Says a lot about the fans and the market.

* It's slightly disappointing that Ellison is not the owner, because we all know about his competitive nature, but that's about it. Nobody knows which kind of owner he'd be. Dan Snyder also has a mean competitive nature and the Redskins haven't done anything in his tenure.

I couldn't be happier of being able to get rid of Cohan, and hope for the best under Lacob and Gruber.

* One think that bothers me, tho, is that we don't know anything about the personnel these two are gonna bring to the Warriors front office (and coaching staff). It's still early enough in the offseason, so they have time to make changes right away, if they want to. Still, I doubt they touch Nellie... but Riley might be on his way out.

the front office is FOR SURE gone. You dont spend $450 million for a team and NOT bring in "your guys" that you know and trust.

Nelson we will have to see. Depends on what the new GM wants to do and what he sees as options out there.

I hope they have heard of the name Mark Jackson. :)

I'd love that... but I think they're gonna keep Nellie for one year, just to avoid having to pay him a ton of million just to watch games in Maui. If he doesn't do a good job, he'll be gone next year, and much cheaper.

I would love to see a presser with Jackson and Pritchard standing next to the new owners.

I'm with TMC, I'm pretty shocked Cohan got his $450 million. I don't wanna repeat what everyone has been saying, so I'll just leave it at that I hope Lacob and Guber can revive this franchise. That's what we all wanted really. We say we want Ellison and all, but what we really wanted was an owner(s) to turn this franchise into a winner. If these two can do that, I'll be fine.
