HBO is a great channel. But i still think Rick Barry could give James Gandolfini and Larry David a run for there money in most swearwords used
( And Rick Barry to could take the honors for most hated person on tv too alongside these 2 eccentric people )

Sounds like a variation on the notion of "The Designated Free Throw Shooter"

American League Baseball .... Designated Hitter
Incompetent At The Free Throw Line ... Designated Free Throw Shooter

I think it also has something to do with a variation on wanting to "find work" ... in the NBA that is. The thought is at least partially designed to be funny. SoCô¿ôL Bob would love to MakeAMillion Shooting Free Throws Image
So, I'm sure, would Rick Barry. They pay a lot of money to coaches. Once you get "in" there's a reasonable chance you can stay in. Especially, if you actually did a good job, or got a good job, etc.

But heck, those guys are HITTING THEIR FREE THROWS SO FAR THIS YEAR ... Yes ? First game comes up soon, we'll see what happens then ... and not JUST with free throws.

BOTTOM LINE
Free throws have grown significantly in the minds of basketball folks.
Not that they haven't ALWAYS been IMPORTANT.
Now, folks are exercising their brains and beginning to DO SOMETHING about it.

Sideline Report ... My son plays JC Basketball ... his team recently lost a game because they finished the game ... 1 for 10 in free throws.

Schitt Happens ... and proudly ... NONE of them shoot UNDERHANDED

P.S.

This would be a very good time for a FREE THROW COMMERCIAL,
FREE THROW CONTEST, a FREE THROW PROMOTION

I know when i goto a wedding or 2st birthday party and it's a open bar usually my bottomless glass turns into a bucket where i have my own rendition of a free throw ( I don't usually concentrate when i step to that line and spew )

Hey, that's more or less my strategy when I shot free throws... but usually never happens. Am I being punished or what?

Yeah you have to trust yourself to do it. No complaining, just do it.

Nope ..

What I'm saying is ...

IF YOU WANT THE BALL TO GO IN
Start with the mind.
The Ball IS GOING IN ... 100% of the TIME
And ... as the song says ... Watch What Happens

Stand
Grip
Lift
Follow Through

OK Folks ... The New Season Is About To Start ...
And I just learned another definition of "spamming."
Repeating a comment on a subject ... over and over and over?

It's Still News

And the goal still never moves.
And the free throw line is still in the same place.
And the method "we" choose to shoot ... is still apparently the same.

Pre-Season doesn't matter. It's only "practice."
And ... did I read the statistics wrong?

Andris Biedrins ... in preseason ... is 1 for 8 from the free throw line.
Is that 12.5 Percent?
Is that WORSE than last year?
That can't be right?

I wonder how his "ego" is doing now?
Certainly wouldn't want to "look" foolish at the line?
Certainly wouldn't want to look like a girl ... an old girl at that?
Nah ... I've got an "expert" for a coach. Why would I want to do that?

George Johnson? Who's he? A guy who used to shoot less than 50% and
ended up at 80 percent plus, plus, plus.

So what?
Yo'er starting to bug me SoCô¿ôL Bob.
Yo'er starting to get on my nerves.

Stand
Grip
Lift
Follow Through
SWISH

Did anybody ever tell you ... SoCô¿ôL Bob ... yo'er a pain in the ass?
That's why I'm wearing those shoes.
'Cause they work better than others ... and they eliminate the pain ... in the ass and everywhere else.

It's still true !!!
THIS COULD BE THE YEAR !!!

I'm just watching the Warrior LA Game Now on Replay ..

Couldn't help but mention ... copy to Rick Barry

ON TV tonite .. Jim Barnett said Don Nelson said that if Andris Biedrins doesn't improve he's going to bring in Rick Barry to teach him underhand ...

There's probably a really good reason why NOBODY has done this yet? I wonder what it is ... ???

Warriors 64.3% free throw shooting ..

Lakers .. 65.9%

Shoot Free Throws ... Not Troops
Shoot Em Underhand

I knew this thread was somehow going to revive. After witnessing the Warriors up close at the Oracle, the free throw shooting is what killed them. Don't know how many they missed because they went 1/2 from the line most of the night.
