Interestingly enough ... a kid can't shoot the shot "totally" the way Rick Barry shoots it ... until their hands are big enough.
They can shoot
SoCô¿ôL Bob's High Speed Video version of the shot ... because when I first learned it I emphasized the fact that the shot IS just
one single movement of the body, that
the basket will teach you the shot if you try it!
I CHOOSE to EMPHASIZE that when I first learned the shot:
a) I was 58 years old.
b) I had never tried the shot in any way I can recall before.
c) I practiced just about three hours a week for just about six weeks before I shot the video, unedited, 56 out of 60!
d) I comfortably identify myself as an 80 percent free throw shooter, at the age of 60, even though I haven't shot more than a couple of single free throws for the last six months.
e) I know HOW EASY the SHOT IS.
f) That's the simple fact of the matter for me. THIS is the WORLD'S EASIEST PHYSICAL SKILL for which an athlete gets points.
g) It's easy to perfect to the tune of 80 percent by practically anybody who breathes.
h) The one thing that stands between making this shot for any professional or semi-successful amateur basketball player is their brain.
