I sort of feel sorry for folks around me lately ... but ... I'm happy to report
an unusual number AGREE ...

Look .. here's the notion ...

Image

IT'S NOT POSSIBLE ... !!!

If you and I are a member of a TEAM
There's 12 of us supposed to be pretty good at something ...
We've got what ... 5 .. 6 ... COACHES ..
ONE OFFICIAL COACH ....
At least two or three EXECUTIVES that have ALL PLAYED THIS GAME
ALL SHOT FREE THROWS
... etc. etc.

Are you getting my drift?

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EXPERIENCE
and have ANY ONE OF US MAKE THIRTY FIVE PERCENT OF
OUR FREE THROWS. ... THE EASIEST THING WE HAVE TO DO!

REFLECTION? That's not JUST a reflection on Andris Biedrins .. that's a reflection on ALL OF THOSE OTHER PEOPLE ... and somehow ... knowing what YOU KNOW .. and knowing what I KNOW ... if we have anything to try and say about it ... IT'S A REFLECTION ON US !!!

HOW CAN WE BE A PART OF THIS?

IS IT TRUE ???

NOBODY Really CARES About Free Throws?

Seems to me nobody cares much about free throws and/or Andris Biedrins ... and/or a bunch of other people who what ... FEEL GOOD CAUSE THEY SOMETIMES CAN MAKE 70 PERCENT ??? 75 PERCENT "On The Road"

:D :D :D :D :D YOU SAW THE VIDEO ??? :D :D :D :D :D

That's an OLD MAN BEING Recovering From Chemotherapy ... HELLO ...
HE doesn't even PLAY BASKETBALL ... :D

HELLO ...

AND you say you CARE about basketball ???

Guess I've gotten a little crazy in my old age hey "32" ? :banghead:

Image

What if I told you I wasn't really kidding?

IT'S NOT POSSIBLE !!!!

Isn't that amazing? I got through that whole thing and didn't once say ... THIS is a Multi-Million Dollar Enterprise. At least some of "us" are making hundreds of thousands of dollars ... a month .... HELLO?

Doesn't it make you wonder? Aren't there so many interesting add ons?

Image

At least ONE of these guys is from STANFORD ... as in very intelligent?

Intelligence ... Free Throws .... 35 Percent
6 weeks ... Minimal Practice ... 70 Percent ? 80 Percent? 90 Percent?
Intelligence ... Free Throws ... 90 Percent

Funny video and good job calling out Biedrins!

A test of modern communications? the value of the "internet" ... "bulletin boards" ... the individual "fan" ...

How many members of The Golden State Warriors have seen this posting?
How did they hear about it?
Did YOU tell them?
The newspaper reporter?
On TV? ESPN? On the radio?
From The Stands ???
Have they "talked about it?"

Image

Some "little old man" has been suggesting, cajoling, reminding, DEMONSTRATING, for the last TWO YEARS, to a whole bunch of Golden State Warrior Fans .... and others ... that making a free throw is EASIER than slicing bread!

"The easiest thing in sports for which a person can get a positive point."

RIGHT NOW ... as we speak ... he's got :D a video posting :D and a lively conversation going that includes ...

IT'S NOT POSSIBLE to be a member of a team that's supposed to be good at something ... and have one of it's members doing at the rate of 35 percent what "this old man can demonstrate" even a NON BASKETBALL PLAYER can do at the rate of 90!

For those who might choose to listen he suggests that 70 percent is NOT EVEN CLOSE to being SOMETHING ANYONE should be PROUD OF! And now he adds .. ANY TEAM!

The solution he suggests can be found on his stationary.

Can YOU demonstrate YOUR VERSION of How This Shot Is Made?
Can THEY?

Maybe all these millionaires just have to easy!!!!!!

Freethrows are something that can be taught and the fact that Biedrins is still awful at them means that the coaching staff haven't found the right means to improve him and Biedrins himself has not searched out better ways to improve either

Can you imagine how far they have to look ô¿~ :banghead:

Since there IS A WAY ... since YOU and I and a WHOLE BUNCH
of OTHERS KNOW and CAN DEMONSTRATE WHAT IT IS ...

Today should be the beginning of the SOLUTION of HIS PROBLEM and
the rest of the Warriors problems ... at the VERY LEAST ... as it comes
from missing shots from the free throw line.

This is not a dream. This is not some fabric of just one's imagination.
SO FAR ... ABSOLUTE NOONE has come up with a demonstration that
Andris Biedrins or any other reasonably talented basketball player cannot
easily learn to make this shot 70 to 80 to 90 percent of the time.

And they can still chew gum.

If that's the case ... HAVE EVERYBODY LEARN THE SHOT
TOGETHER !!!
Have a Free Throw Contest Every Day !!!

You want to teach the world to sing ... I want to teach the Warriors how to have fun and SHOCK THE WORLD ... by easily learning how each and every one can MAKE MORE FREE THROWS

Why don't you introduce yourself to the Warriors management and ask to help out? You may even get paid well if you are accepted and able to make a real difference

There are certainly members of the Warrior's management who are
"aware" .... shall we say ... and certainly a portion of the point of this posting ... is to help make EVERYONE more aware.

Hello ... My name is Bob Kennedy ... and I'd like to help you make more free throws

BUT ... Just In Case ... And Per Your Advice

migya wrote:Why don't you introduce yourself to the Warriors management and ask to help out?

I have just sent them an additional email.

There is also another, who is "The Master Of This Particular Shot" ...
Someone of whom we are all aware .. who could be available ... etc.
If I got such a job ... the first thing I'd want to do would be to CALL HIM!

Let's see .. I believe you can reach him tomorrow NOON by calling
1 800 KNBR ... and/or some other phone numbers just like it ... or is he off tomorrow? Near as I can figure ... at least so far ... he's also got a better follow through than I do. More practice :D

Well that's right - Rick Barry is a former Warriors who is still somewhat invloved and around the place. You'd think they would have got him in to help with the freethrow shooting.

Underhanded freethrows are just a thing that is not liked too much

And THAT'S the part that's got me and a whole bunch of others FASCINATED.

Our unique and weird brains.

Let's face it ... PEOPLE COPY PEOPLE ALL THE TIME!
The whole country of Japan and now China are famous for it.
Television and the media is famous for it.
How come they call it "reality TV" when THIS IS REALITY!
The things we do we do over and over and over as though they were "it" whether they happen to be "it" or not.

And yet ... our human brains, when confronted with just a small amount of evidence, and now demonstration, that:

a) this is a shot
b) a possible way to make free throws
c) a better way to make free throws
d) an EASY way to make free throws

Have decided to hesitate .... and NOT .. universally ... even TRY and/or PRACTICE this shot. [p.s. I've noticed with other things, this can be an important clue - to "how" we "behave"]

What's the deal?
As long as we ALL do it it's OK? 70 Percent? How does 35 percent
even become "acceptable"?

ANSWER: Hanging out with a group of 35 percenters

What does it do to our little notions of athleticism when an ENTIRE PLANET of SKILLED and PRACTICED individuals .... ARE SO LOUSY at something that is SO EASY? When an old man can beat you?

You know ... to me ... that part is VERY INTERESTING ... but remains IRRELEVANT ... because ... again to me ... the true test of the value of this shot will not manifest itself to YOU and or to ALL THESE PEOPLE ... until they PRACTICE and DEVELOP the SIMPLE SKILL .... of making the shot. Then ... their comments begin to have more value. The best way to make this shot is a) or b) followed by a demonstration of the ball going in the basket .. damn near every time ...

Do you know there are people who play basketball today .... who CAN MAKE THIS SHOT ... underhand ... but don't shoot it? in public? hello?

Again .. the whys and wherefores are interesting ... but they all lead to MISSED FREE THROWS.

Mr. Biedrins UNDOUBTEDLY has REASONS why he does what he currently does ... even though, let's face it ... the current results are HORRENDOUS ... RIDICULOUS ... TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE .... according to me ... the results he currently receives are IMPOSSIBLE !!!

The interesting thing to me and I'm sure to some others IS ...
NO MATTER HOW MUCH I "SAY" about this shot ... IT DOESN'T MATTER

What matters is basketball player's stepping up to the line and shooting it ... as close to correctly as they can NOW ... slowly improving over time until they almost CAN'T MISS.

You see ... I say that's what would be happening if basketball players
began to develop this shot and practice it. "REASON" ... I suggest ... actually SUPPORTS MY VIEW ... because MY VIEW comes from Science AND EXPERIENCE. Want to have a free throw contest? Want to learn how to shoot this free throw?

SO FAR ... my brain is convinced that ANYONE who begins with step one, standing at the same place, every time, and proceeds through the follow through ... ANYONE can be what ... almost as good as "me"? better than me? damn near the same because you can only make so many ô¿~

So ... what would "I" do about it?

Image

Anything that EVERY individual Warrior can think of ...
to Get "OFF" Of It ... Get "OFF" of what it is that causes you to hesitate and prevents you from developing the skill of lifting your arms with a basketball in your hand ... from 15 feet ... so that it goes in the basket ALMOST EVERY TIME!
GET OFF OF IT!

Go the line ... shoot the shot.
That's ONE ...
Now ... keep going ... until you're good enough to achieve your goal.

I GUARANTEE YOU WILL HAVE ALL THE HELP IN THE WORLD TO GET THERE

Science is on your side.
Rick Barry will be on your side.
I'll definitely be ON YOUR SIDE!
:D GOD Will Be On Your Side :D

Teammates may snicker and laugh ... but .. when the ball starts going in ... DAMN NEAR EVERY TIME ... they'll look on in amazement !!!

:D Wanna See? :D

Stand
Grip
Bend The Wrist
Lift
Follow Through
SWISH !!!

ONE MOVEMENT OF THE BODY!

Lift ... Lift ... Lift ...

Personally ... on the first session ... I don't really CARE if the BALL EVER GOES IN ... [Not possible ô¿~] What you begin with is whatever happens now when you lift your arms. What will happen, as you do it over and over and over again, is you will learn EXACTLY HOW HARD you need to lift those arms. How will you learn? The BALL GOES IN! Then, you'll repeat the motion over and over, day after day, until you could lift your arms about that hard ... in your sleep. Do you know any carpenters? I'm told they can hammer a nail just so ... EVERY TIME ... and they NEVER ... or ALMOST NEVER ... hit their thumb. AND, I'm told, IT'S NO BIG DEAL!

What you will end up with is the arms performing almost exactly the same way ... EVERY TIME ... and the BALL GOES IN !!!

You'll get better. There will be a tomorrow.
There's more than one video available .. with instruction ... and there will be more.

Wanna Speed Up The Process? Wanna Have Even More Fun?

CALL ME !!! Send Me EMail !!!

Well the posts have been made. Its time to really go to management and point out the fact that our free throw shooting isn't as good as it should. Over hand or underhand. It is useless to vent about free throws here because I doubt Warrior management will look at it. It might be even pointless to go to Rick Barry because I don't think Cohan likes him. Its up to the coaches to preach free throws. Most of the time, I think it is mental as well as physical. Their focus drifts for a second elsewhere and they miss. Maybe they can get brent price to show them how to shoot FTs overhand and have Barry show them underhand..

Per Your Suggestions

Considering this as though it were a TEAM effort ... I've made a couple of phone calls ... three ... and left a message for two different Warrior "managers" ... and a third to a receptionist person ... whom, it sounds, like, may be able to communicate a simple message ....

Any other suggestions?

P.S. Sure wish I could figure out how to get my little old man picture Image up
there underneath my name like SOME people ... ??? Every time I try in my profile it comes up with a long error message. Not Possible? ô¿~

and then there's this guy

and Billy Packer, who tonite, as the announcer for the NCAA Basketball Finals, just said,

"... if yo'er shooting 50 percent from the free throw line .. why not just back
up a little and shoot your jumper ..."

'Cause the whole world's not NUTS .... 'cause human beings have brains ...
'cause it's total nonsense that this shot "doesn't look good" when it goes in.

When I'm in the game, or when I "give a damn" about the outcome ...
I want my guy/gal at the line to MAKE HIS/HER FREE THROWS!
