i'm trying to find some proof as to why you say he rebounds at a "freakish clip"...

2005-06 season: An undrafted 24-year-old rookie, James Singleton wowed observers with his athleticism and played so well in his limited minutes that it was a bit shocking he didn't see more action. Singleton is an outstanding leaper who ranked third among all small forwards with a 15.1 rebound rate. He also hit 51 percent from the floor and 78 percent from the line, giving him the 8th-best TS% at his position. While he wasn't a very active offensive participant -- his usage rate was only 59th -- his high efficiency helped him to a respectable PER.

Scouting report: Singleton may be on the court primarily for his athleticism, but unlike a lot of players of this type he can also shoot, with a nice mid-range jumper that he'll hit when left open. He was 10-for-20 on 3-pointers last season and should look to expand his game in this direction, as it will make him much more valuable offensively. He has no ballhandling or low post skills, so the jumpers and second shots are pretty much his lone sources of points.

Defensively, Singleton's athleticism makes him a very capable on-ball defender, especially at the small forward spot. However, he's still learning the ropes of NBA defense and needs to improve his reading and reacting off the ball. He also fouled once every eight minutes, which is too much for a perimeter player. Though he's 6-8 and can jump, Singleton is only 216 pounds, so putting him in at the frontcourt doesn't work out very well -- something that happened far too often last season.

2006-07 outlook: Singleton's role isn't likely to change much until or unless the team trades Corey Maggette. Quinton Ross has already established himself as the team's primary defensive stopper, and newly signed forward Tim Thomas figures to take most of the minutes that don't go to Ross and Maggette at small forward. He's a free agent after the season, and if he plays well he should vastly increase his league-minimum salary.

I'm looking at his game logs. His best game: 7 boards in 33 minutes. Not exactly a 'freakish clip', if you ask me.

He had a couple nice nights last year... but not when you check his competition. 13 rebounds against the Hawks (aka, when Pachulia and Harrington were leading them with 7 and 6 a night, respectively)?

I wouldn't trade anything for this guy; not even draft picks.

Granted. But, besides that fact, I like Singleton. He's a good defender, decent rebounder, athletic... although there's a slight problem: We have sh*tload of players like him in the team.

I'd trade... Cabarkasfjaksjfasjfkaspa for him. That's all. And I know the numbers don't work... would need fillers and it would be a salary dump, which is the main reason I'd do that trade.
