No english dictionary here, but it can be short for:

The Next Thing
The Next Generation
The Next Warrior

Or How about "Lightning"

I mean the Warriors do have "Thunder" now we have our Lightning

I kinda like "Next". Simple, easy to remember, and tells the story.

Slight problem there. What happens in 15 years?. Do we change his nickname?. Or maybe we can simply call him "Next... Retirement".

I don't think it'll be a problem. Philly called Iverson "The Answer" until he was traded... and that clearly wasn't true.

I'm just not feeling it. It sounds like we're not taking Monta seriously, y'know?

I have been referring to Monta as "The Hammer." He hammers down dunks and when he puts it into another gear, he puts the hammer down on opponents offensively.

Didn’t they call Kordell “bubbles,” too, because of his forehead?

Monta “Express Mail” Ellis

or

"CA Express"
"No. CAL Express"

Let's see, smooth and sweet. How about "Mantequilla?" Spanish for butter.
