We do cut some salary:

This is with data from hoopshype (I hope I didn't make mistakes)

2006/2007 2007/2008 2008/2009 2009/2010 2010/2011 Total:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Troy Murphy 8.29 9.21 10.13 11.05 11.97 50.65
Mike Dunleavy 7.44 8.22 9.00 9.78 10.56 45.00
Ike Diogu 2.14 2.29 2.91* 3.95^ 4.43 (7.34)(11.29)
Keith McLeod 1.35 1.35
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total: 19.22 19.72 19.13 20.83 22.53 101.43
(22.04) (24.78) (108.29)

2006/2007 2007/2008 2008/2009 2009/2010 2010/2011 Total:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Al Harrington 7.63 8.43 9.23 10.03 35.32
Stephen Jackson 6.12 6.63 7.14 7.65 27.54
Sarunas Jasikevicius 4.00 4.00 8.00
Josh Powell 0.74 0.74
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total: 18.49 19.06 16.37 17.68 71.60

Difference: 0.73 0.66 2.76 3.15 22.53 29.83
(5.67) (21.63) (36.69)

In short we cut 0.73 the first season, 0.66 the second etc. The last year we cut a lot and we also have one less promising youngster that will demand money now. I think our salary situation is a little better.

Great trade.

This is GREAT news!
I think this burst of new energy and talent is going to keep Baron and others on the squad hyped for each game which will lead to more wins and more likely - the playoffs!
As for Mike and Troy, they always seemed this year liked they weren't part of the core group - and by this I mean off the court. I think baron and other's held their tongues on these guys and will be glad to see them go.
As for the fans in Indiana - I think Mike D will do well - about as good as he was for us in the first 25 games of this season. Troy, I am afraid may never be as good as he once was. Looks like they are in a rebuilding phase - especially since I predict O'Niel will be gone next year.
Unlike others on this board - I hope Ike does do well. He seemed like a good guy and since he will be in the east and not a threat to us - more power to him.
NOW - LET"S GET BACK THE ENERGY WE HAD IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON AND WHEN WE FIRST GOT BARON BACK TO ORACLE ARENA!
11 years of no playoffs and counting...

ADIOS DUNMURPHY (if I may quote d. bruce)!!!!!! Never liked em, never will. I've seen enough bonehead passes, bricked free-throws and unspirited/perfunctory-a$$ performances from these two losers: YES THAT"S WHAT THEY ARE.

As a season ticket holder I'm ecstatic, and look forward to a squad that should be a legit playoff contender now.

Defense you say? How could it get worse. Prior to the trade, this team allowed 107 points per game (that's 30th in the nba boys and girls: yes dead last). Do i need to say more? Don't let me bring up rpg.

We just got a whole lot better overnight. Thanks Nellie!!!

BTW, whose gonna start tonight  ???
u can find me in the club. need seats?? let me know.

Chris Mullin now has a team that looks totally different from what he invisioned. No more station to station basketball that murphy and Dunleavy play. Today's NBA is all about great athletes. Murphy and Dunleavy can not play with the big boys on a regular basis. Ike is also limited by gravitational pull. Harrington and Jackson can run and jump. now our teamis really starting to look like the Phoenix Suns with Harrington being our Marion and Jackson being our Diaw. Baron is Nash.

Hey, is it too late to call Indy and ask if they also want Foyle? Maybe for J-O'Neal?

To all you Mullin haters... Do you like him now?

I told you all that Mullin will do the right thing! As I remember there were many Mullin bashers on here! You just gotta wait... GM's take about 4-5 years to get comfortable, and all GM's make mistakes. There's more positive than negative with Mully.

MULLIN IS THE MAN AND I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT SO!!! ALL YOU MULLIN BASHERS CAN NOW SAY, "I'M SORRY CHRIS... YOU'RE A GOOD GM."

GREAT TRADE!!!

Later you worthless piles of crud!!!! (Dunleavy and Murphy!!!) I will really miss Ike (I know big things are in store for him) but getting rid of those two leaches was worth it!!!!

Props to Mullin for getting Harrington and SJ-crazy, but could be a great fit for this team...
This season is not a flop.

I LOVE THIS TRADE! I TAKE A BACK SEAT TO NO ONE IN IKE_BOOSTING< BUT YA GOTTA GIVE UP SOMETHING. To move DungMurphy AND get back Harrington, Jackson, Jave (can't spell his name yet) and losing those bad contracts is wonderful. Mullin has now gotten us Baron for Speedy, Barnes for Fisher and Harrington/Jackson for DungMurphy. I am sad to see Ike go, but let's face it, he was not Nelson's style of player, and he can study behind O'Neal, a great power forward, so I am happy for him. am quite sure he will thrive elsewhere...

All hail Chris Mullin

THIS IS A GREAT TRADE!!!!!!!!!

We get rid of dung AND murph and all we have to give up is ike? This would be good if we got **** players in return. Instead, we get two solid players who should contribute at our weak spots. This lineup is great. If we can keep this team together for 2-3 years it could be a contender (I know you think that's crazy but monta will likely be a 22-5 level player by then and AB will be a 15-11-3 guy, to go along with J-rich, BD, Harrington, Barnes, Jackson, etc). This trade is awesome. I am so happy

yup!

If I didn't know that Walsh and Mullin were tight I would say Indiana got raped...btw, here are the trade details as shown on espn - interesting that Ike was listed as the player with the highest PER by far in the deal -I think he is the sweetener for Indy. Our line-up, with a healthy JRich, BD, Monta, Harrington, Jackson, Biedrins and Barnes is awesome for Nelly ball. Should give Ws at least an extra 5-7 wins this year...and to get rid of those cancerous contracts on top of it! Wow...
