Point guard Baron Davis revealed after the game that he has been dealing with "family issues" since Christmas, and took responsibility for letting those off-court distractions affect his play.

"I have a job and I have to give my teammates 110 percent of me as a basketball player and I haven't been doing that," Davis said. "I have to use basketball as my safe haven to relieve some of the stress and the pressures."

Davis declined to go into further detail aside from saying that the problems did not involve the health of his grandmother, Lela Nicholson. He was not at practice Thursday and said he could miss an additional day "here and there, but I don’t foresee that getting in the way of what we're tying to accomplish here."

Teammate Matt Barnes, who played with Davis at UCLA, said he's noticed the toll the problems have taken on Davis lately. Barnes also has a sympathetic ear: Barnes' mother had a mild heart attack two days ago.

"When it rains, it pours," he said.

He's trimmed them down. Last season it was a problem, this season it's not.

He just drives and creates more this season or we'll all be down on him for shooting to many threes

He's doing poor offensively due to his wrists. He's playing with two sore wrists which is most likely the reason to why his shot is off. But as long as he's dishing out the dimes then I'm fine with that.
