My first pick comes with a bibliography:

Kalb, Elliott Who's Better, Who's Best in Basketball?: Mr. Stats sets the Record Straight on the Top 50 NBA Players of All Time, USA, McGraw Hill 2004.

SHAQ!

He has Shaq ranked number 1 overall. I don't agree with him at all but he makes a compelling case for him. Either way, Shaq is now in the top 8 on most everybody's all time greatest lists. Therefore, it is only natural that he rounds out the first round.

My coach selection is Chuck Daly. It came down to him, Jerry Sloan, and John Kundla. Daly has the best winning % of the three and coached against tought competition than Kundla.

Starting off the next round...

The Logo - Mr. Jerry West.

I kind of hate myself for taking two Lakers to build around, but at least one of them hates the organization now.

I pick Hakeem Olajuwon. In his prime, arguably the best center ever

I'm stuck between two malones, but I think I'm going to pick the PF since it's a rare position (all time). I'm taking the mailman, all 35000 points and two MVPs of him. He would thrive with Magic and a center is a lot easier to get than a PF

I'm tempted to take Moses Malone, but I'll go with Elgin Baylor.
