i have to say keep them both. monty may not have a cred with this player or that player but thats exactly why mullin wont tolerate that shiiiii and get rid of players who dont follow the coach. look and a monta and biedrins listen and respect coach montgomery. its the players who were here or at least around the league before coach was here that may not respect him. i think mullin likes murphy for what he is but im hoping he realizes that he doesnt fit with the type of team we have here, he's just not a montgomery type of player at pf. diogu however.... and im anxious to see how taft develops...

Murphy is EXACTLY the type of 4 Montgomery's used to... have you seen old Stanford games...?
We're talking about an organization that produced Mark Madsen, here. ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

omg.. maddog. The guy that will be remembered in the NBA for his funky looking dance in the LA Lakers championship victory celebration. Don't forget the Collins twins.... Tim "The only yardstick for success our society has is being a champion. No one remembers anything else."

All those guys are dedicated post guys(mediocre, but dedicated). Murphy's game is nothing like what Monty teaches.
|
And, yet, it's incredibly similar to every post player he's produced. Granted, Murphy has a way better 3-point shot than any of Monty's power forwards... but the meek, almost afraid to attack the basket in the post game is pretty much identical to how Madsen (one of the finer Stanford big man prospects) plays in the NBA. So, essentially... Monty doesn't teach that, but it's how all of his post players turn out. Interesting... ![]() GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS DIE HARD ![]() ![]() |

The reason why I said that we dont need to fire anyone at this point is that we need some consistency in this club.
If we keep on firing a coach, GM, Operations, etc... the club will always be in a transition phase where everyone is adjusting, lost or dont know what to do. Look at Utah, they were coached by Sloan for a long time, they sometimes get to the playoffs, sometimes not. The coach is not a high profile coach like riley, daily or jackson. But even if they dont reach the playoffs, you dont hear about Sloan getting fired. If a club instills a system, and we cant expect it to be in place in two years, they will eventually win. If we keep on firing coaches because he havent produced a playoff contender in two years, then we will always be out of the playoffs. We as loyal fans have waited since the TMC times, I think we can still afford to wait and see what we can do in a couple more years. Don't get me wrong, I too was expecting a playoff season this year, and I too was disappointed like you guys. I just feel that if we just give mully and monty a chance, they will produce for us. |

C'mon #32, Madsen is probably the least talented player in the NBA. The only reason he plays is because he is all hustle. I'm still shocked that someone is giving him, what, 1-2 mil per year for the next five years? Stanford big men have, pretty much across the board been stiffs. Stiffs with good grades. |
|
So how can you possibly argue that Montgomery (the stiffs' teacher) doesn't teach that? If he continually produces soft NBA big men, than it's safe to say he's probably teaching them to be soft.

Do you remember seeing Tim Young in a Warriors uniform? Do you really think Monty had anything to do with the depth of that talent? The guy was a poetry major for crying out loud. Monty was inflicted with the players Stanford allowed him to recruit. Can you imagine drafting an NBA team only from guys who graduated with a 3.00 GPA or better? That was what Monty was faced with at Stanford. The tragedy was Okafor, who was a real smart kid and easily got into Stanford, there just weren't any scholarships left because the Collins twins I think were both in their last year of eligibility.

So you're saying smart people don't play the post like men...?

Chris Dudley owned them all. |

The only consistency we'll get with Monty is a repeat of the garbage that happened this season! Jery Sloan still with the Jazz - THAT'S BECAUSE HE IS A FUKIN GREAT COACH! The Jazz hardly ever miss the playoffs! They have missed out the last couple of seasons becuase of injuries to their best players (Kirilenko and Boozer) and the fact that their team is rather SHIIT! Some players are alright but that team is rather shiit! ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |

Apparently he did quite well at Yale. He did likewise in the nba now didn't he. Lots of intelligent plays (the flop, the frequent occurring fuk ups) from the intelligent man ![]() ![]() migya make the ring fall on ya |
