They were in complete control. Then Green went out and they lost to Harden at home. Were they just not trying? I don't know how they lost. Chris Paul wasn't even much of a factor.

A few things went wrong, but the foul trouble for Green, Steph, and KD, not having Iggy to run the 2nd unit or fill in for those guys, Caspi tweaking his ankle, having to rely on Swaggy to play D down the stretch (his +/- was awful), not scoring consistently in the 4th, and the Rockets played a good game.

Honestly, none of those things are really worth going into detail over, except that they will all improve as the season goes on, and that the Rockets clearly wanted this game more. No excuses though, we just didn't play very well. We should have won despite all those things going against us, and we will overcome things like that going forward.

Harden said after the game that it was "like a playoff game," and while they certainly had that intensity, it just didn't feel like the Dubs did. Better to get this stuff out of the way early.
