3 year deal agreed to in principle. Also mentioned that he may be an associate head coach? Not sure how that works. Good signing.

At least he has experience, not sure what expertise he brings, defense, offense?

GREAT signing.

We needed a HC on the staff to show Kerr the ropes and Gentry has a great relationship with Kerr from their days together in Phoenix. Don't forget, Alvin Gentry coached the Suns to within a game of the NBA Finals. He's a terrific teacher and is known as a players coach the guys can connect with... Which will be important in lieu of the absence left by Mark Jackson.
