I thought of having an interactive sort of game here where we have participants that are allocated a number of teams (depending on the number of particpants) and do a mock draft. If enough people are in that is.

Basically just a game where we have a radom drawing to see who get the first picks, one for each participant (so if there is five of us, we draw for the first five picks) and then we allocate teams depending on what teams have lottery picks and 1st round pick(s). So if you get NO, who have two lottery picks, you will be allocated the rest of your teams so you don't get more (or much more at least) 1st round picks than anyone else as such, just trying to even things up so noone really get more than anyone else, though difficult I know.

We can have it so you can make trades with already existing players, but that would involve using the 1st year salary of the draft pick:

Pick Year 1 Salary
1 $4,286,900
2 $3,835,600
3 $3,444,400
4 $3,105,500
5 $2,812,200
6 $2,554,200
7 $2,331,700
8 $2,136,100
9 $1,963,600
10 $1,865,300
11 $1,772,100
12 $1,683,500
13 $1,599,300
14 $1,519,400
15 $1,443,300
16 $1,371,200
17 $1,302,600
18 $1,237,500
19 $1,181,800
20 $1,134,500
21 $1,089,100
22 $1,045,600
23 $1,003,800
24 $963,600
25 $925,100
26 $894,400
27 $868,600
28 $863,300
29 $857,000

Great, that's two of us. That means 15 teams each :? so we need more participants. Ten would be ideal, but at least five would be needed.

I don't know that many guys, and I think it's harder to miss here than in the NFL. There you know the rounds at least, here, I can draft in the first round a guy that will end up being undrafted. Anyway, I'm in. :)

Basically we have a mock draft but we are also able to conduct trades with each other, though not withing our own teams. So if we have six participants as we currently have, we'll have five teams each and you can't do trades withing those five teams, you have to trade with another participant(s).

I don't think anyone else will join, but we'll give it two more days and then we'll have a chat about how to distribute the teams, as it is not that easy, as we'll have to divide the teams up depending on position in the draft and how many picks each team has in the draft.

Five teams each for six participants sounds good as we have to divide 30 teams somewhat evenly between all of us. Though the more participants the better I think.

I don't want to play, but I am down being the organizer of this so its fair.... Here my ideas (and please shoot me down migya if I am going overboard).

If there are 6 participatands, I can randomly assign you all to 5 teams each in the NBA, so you guys will need to draft having both talent AND need in mind when you make your selections. Then you guys can make trades with both the draft picks and current players in your squads (free agents don't count). Then, there is a vote in the end to determine the teams that have improved the most.

So are we sending trade proposals through this thread or are we suppose to message each other?

Be great if you want to be sort of like the commissioner Crackers. Thanks for offering.

Yea, six of us means five teams each, which sounds alright.

The hard thing to organise is, that each participant has five teams, but noone with really anymore draft picks than anyone else. Not easy. There are some teams, and to be honest I haven't checked at this stage, that don't have any 1st round picks and some teams have more than one. Each participant should get roughly the same amount of draft picks BUT we also have to workout fairness with where each pick is and by that I mean, that the higher picks should also be randomly distributed evenly as such.

Maybe a good way to do that is to give each participant teams going by adding up the # of their picks in the draft. Let me explain; there are 30 picks in the 1st round and so if participant #1 has five teams with picks 8, 14, 16, 20 and 21 (for example), that would add up to 8+14+16+20+21=79. Basically, the aim should really be for all six of us to have draft pick #s that add up to about the same number, that way it seems more fair talentwise of where you pick. As an example, having one person having five teams with picks that add up to 20, say picks 1, 2, 6 and 11 (hypothetical ofcourse), is not fair, too high for one person and the rest of us will have lower draft picks.

Let's discuss what we want to do, if anyone has any other points to make or sees anything else that needs to be covered, say so.
